Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Manchester is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to gather accurate medication histories from patients arriving at the Emergency Department and to support inpatient admissions with precise data entry. You will speak confidently with patients, families, doctors and nurses, maintain confidentiality, and use our computer system to document information.

One year of retail pharmacy experience or six months with medication histories is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of medical terminology and medication related terms.
• Experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail setting (1 year) or six months medication histories.

Responsibilities

• Gather accurate medication histories from patients arriving at the Emergency Department.
• Maintain confidential reports and enter data into the computer system.
• Speak confidently with patients, families, doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
