Job summary

Hartford HealthCare at Home is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to collect accurate medication histories from patients arriving at the Emergency Department and support inpatient units in Manchester. You will interview patients and families, enter data, and maintain confidential records while coordinating with clinical staff.

Responsibilities include data entry, communicating with physicians and nurses, and ensuring accurate medication histories to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician experience in retail settings is required.
• Experience gathering medication histories or similar tasks is preferred.
• Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection required by March 31st.

Responsible for gathering accurate medication histories information from patients arriving at the Emergency Department, this information is done by interviewing patient/family/significant other upon arrival to be admitted to the inpatient units. Completes various related administrative which alleviate pharmacist time. Responsible to maintain confidential reports, enter and retrieve data utilizing the computer system, and speak confidently with patients/family, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Requires an appropriate level of understanding and training in medical terminology and medication related terms

Experience

• One (1) year of experience as a pharmacy tech in a retail setting.
• Or, six month experience conducting medication histories and/or similar experiences

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection required by March 31st of each year.
