Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Emergency Department Pharmacist, the Medication History Technician (MHT) will conduct medication histories through patient, family, or significant other interviews for patients arriving in the Emergency Department for inpatient admission. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology and medication-related terms, maintaining confidentiality, data entry and retrieval using computer systems, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification preferred
• Current Connecticut Pharmacy Technician Registration

Experience & Skills

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and metrics
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
