Job summary

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center in Enola, PA seeks a Pharmacy Technician to obtain and document accurate medication histories for newly admitted patients. You will input data into the electronic health record to support safe care and coordinate with physicians and other health care teams.

Qualifications include PA-Board registered technician status, PTCB certification, a PTCB Medication History certification within 12 months, and at least five years of experience.

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB, NHA, or equivalent).
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
• PTCB Medication History Certification required within twelve (12) months of start date.
• Minimum five (5) years of pharmacy technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work with newly admitted patients to obtain and document an accurate medication list to avoid duplications, omissions, and errors.
• Enter collected information into the electronic health record for use by physicians and other health care providers.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for working with newly admitted patients to obtain and document an accurate medication list to help avoid medication duplications, omissions, and errors. The information obtained will be entered into the electronic health record to be used by physicians and other health care providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB, NHA, or equivalent)
