Job summary

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center in Enola, PA is seeking a Medication History Pharmacy Technician. You will work with newly admitted patients to collect and document accurate medication histories, helping prevent duplications, omissions, and errors.

Your entries will feed the electronic health record for use by physicians and other care team members. Requirements include Current Pharmacy Technician Certification, PA State Board registration, PTCB within 12 months, and a minimum of five

  • Registration by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
  • PTCB Certification required within twelve (12) months of start date.
  • Minimum five (5) years of pharmacy technician experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document accurate medication lists for newly admitted patients.
  • Enter medication history into the electronic health record for physicians and staff.
  • Help prevent medication duplications, omissions, and errors.

Evening Shift Differential: $2.00/hour

Hours: Day/evening with weekend rotation

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for working with newly admitted patients to obtain and document an accurate medication list to help avoid medication duplications, omissions, and errors. The information obtained will be entered into the electronic health record to be used by physicians and other health care providers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB, NHA, or equivalent)

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required

  • PTCB Medication History Certification required within twelve (12) months of start date

  • Minimum five (5) years of pharmacy technician experience required
