Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to assist with order entry and distribution under a Pharmacist's supervision. Varied hours with primarily 2nd shift; evening/night differentials apply.

Eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. The role ensures proper inventory control, accurate purchasing distribution, and compliance with pharmacy policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy with medical terminology and computer use required OR graduate of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program with a minimum of 120 hours in an externship program required.
  • Ability to obtain Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB, NHA, or equivalent) within six months required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required
  • Six (6) months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy with an educational background in medical terminology and computer use required OR graduate of a formalized Pharmacy Technician Training Program with a minimum of 120 hours in an externship program required.
