JOB OVERVIEW

The Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing high-quality care by administering medication and treatments safely and organized. Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, and resident care, always demonstrating Sunrise's Mission to champion the quality of life for all seniors, in compliance with relevant laws, standards, and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

*Please note this position requires a licensed medication aide*

*REQUIRED SHIFTS: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, 3PM-11PM*

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Document medication administration and resident responses.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
• Maintain confidentiality and report concerns appropriately.
• Assist in medication re-stocking and checking.
• Assess residents for "as needed" medications and document accordingly.
• Count narcotics with another qualified team member each shift.
• Keep medication areas clean and organized.
• Support resident independence and dignity.
• Practice good hygiene and safety precautions.

Resident Care Communications:

• Report resident or family concerns to the RCD.
• Participate in daily team meetings and care planning.

Risk Management and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
• Report accidents, hazards, and exposures immediately.
• Follow infection control procedures.

Training and Team Contribution:

• Participate in team activities and training sessions.
• Attend meetings and contribute to team goals.
• Maintain required certifications and training.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED; state/provincial certification required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Experience with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication and judgment skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities calmly.
