Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Roseland, NJ, is seeking a full-time Certified Medication Technician to deliver compassionate care to residents in a warm, home-like environment.

As a CMT, you will communicate medication concerns to the Resident Care Director, document administration in the MAR, complete state-approved training, maintain CPR, and participate in ongoing competency reviews, with a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold state Medication Technician license and competency.
• Complete quarterly competency review supervised by RN/RCD.
• CPR certification required or within six months of hire.
• State-approved training course in drug administration completed.
• Competency evaluated by RCD each quarter.
• Current CNA certification or CHHA/homemaker training completed.

Responsibilities

• Communicates questions, concerns, and discrepancies related to medication administration to the RCD.
• Notifies RCD of significant changes in residents' status.
• Documents supervision of self-administration in MAR.
• Documents/ notifies RCD of PRN meds administration.
• Responsible for documentation on PRN meds and affects.

Benchmark at Roseland is looking for a full time compassionate Certified Medication Technician to join our team! As a CMT, your main role will be to deliver care to our residents within a warm, comfortable, and home-like environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicates questions, concerns, and/or discrepancies related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director (RCD).
• Communicates any significant change of mental or physical status of resident to RCD.
• Documents supervision of self-administration in MAR.
• Documents/ notifies RCD of administration of prn meds.
• Responsible for documentation on prn meds and affect.
• Recognizes and can assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Requirements

• Must have state Medication Technician License and demonstrate competency in accordance with the state-approved protocol in drug administration
• Successfully complete medication technician competency review (as supervised by RN / RCD) quarterly
• CPR certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire
• The Medication Technician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory successful completion.
• Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter
• Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have successfully completed the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program
• High School education preferred
