Job summary

Milestone Retirement is seeking a Lead Medication Technician for overnight shifts (10pm–6am) to oversee daily ADL services and medication management for residents. You will supervise the medication technician team, ensure care plans are followed, and communicate with medical professionals and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of caregiving experience with six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field, and current state

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of caregiving experience.
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field.
• Must be able to read physician orders and follow MAR/MAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the medication technician team in delivering services per resident care plans.
• Administer medications following physician orders and MAR.
• Verify daily documentation and track completion of resident care tasks.
• Communicate with the team regarding resident needs and ensure high-quality service.
• Supervise staff during shifts and support their development.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing education.

About The Role, Full Time Overnights 10pm To 6am

We’re seeking a Lead Medication Technician to oversee daily ADL services and medication management for residents. In this role, you’ll supervise the medication technician team, ensure resident care plans are followed, and maintain communication with medical professionals and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support the medication technician team in delivering services according to resident care plans
• Administer medications following physician orders and Medication Administration Records (MAR)
• Verify daily documentation and track completion of resident care tasks
• Communicate with the team regarding resident needs and ensure consistent, high-quality service
• Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room
• Supervise staff during shifts and support their development
• Maintain all required certifications, in-service training, and ongoing education
• Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines
• Ensure safe work practices and support team members in maintaining safety standards
• Assist with workplace injury investigations and return-to-work processes as needed
• Foster teamwork, take initiative, and positively impact coworkers, residents, and visitors
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of caregiving experience
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field
• Ability to read physician orders and accurately follow Medication Administration Records
• Understanding of medical terminology and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel) preferred
• Required state certifications for medication administration
• Must meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
• Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor
