Job summary

PruittPlace - Winston Salem is seeking a Nursing Medication Technician to assist residents with medications per physician orders and care plans. You will coordinate with the resident’s pharmacy, healthcare providers and family to ensure safe and accurate medication management.

The role requires adherence to state/federal rules, accurate documentation, and effective communication within the care team. CPR/Med Tech certifications are required; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• CPR certification and Medication Tech certification required by law
• Experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
• On-the-job training provided

Responsibilities

• Remains current in state and federal rules for medication management
• Read and follow medication orders and labels accurately
• Transcribe orders to the MAR and correct as needed
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration
• Document assistance and resident refusals accurately
• Monitor storage, handling and disposal of medications
• Communicate with pharmacy, healthcare providers and families as needed
• Assist direct care partners and support shift change reports
