Job summary

Legacy Retirement Communities is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide for the Evening Shift to support residents in our Kentucky facility. You will administer medications per orders, monitor vitals, and help with daily living activities with compassion.

Responsibilities include updating med charts, assisting with med cart changes, noting behavioral changes, and reporting to the Charge Nurse, while keeping carts clean and stocked. Certification in Nebraska’s 40-hour requirement is noted.

Qualifications

• Ability to monitor vitals such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and blood sugar.
• Maintain medication chart and documentation of administration.
• Assist with activities of daily living for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per doctor’s orders and five rights of administration.
• Assist with med cart changes and monthly med sheets as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Monitor changes in residents’ physical or mental state and report to the Charge Nurse.
• Keep medication cart clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Assist with non-medication duties such as light housekeeping, laundry, and resident care.
• Obtain a 40-hour Medication Aide certification in Nebraska.

Our team needs you to:

• Administer medications including oral, topical, drops, sprays, etc. per doctor’s orders according to the policies and procedures of the facility and adhering to the five rights of medication administration.
• Assist with med cart change over and the checking of the monthly med sheets as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Monitor any changes in resident’s physical or mental behavior and report the abnormality to the Charge Nurse.
• Maintain medication cart in a clean and orderly state and re-stock with supplies as needed.
• Assist with activities outside of medication management such as: light housekeeping, laundry, resident cares, and other various tasks.
• Obtain a 40-hour valid and current Medication Aide certification in the State of Nebraska.
