Job summary

Alamance House in Burlington, NC seeks a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support clinical teams in administering medications and providing specialized care for residents. The role focuses on accurate dosing, documentation, monitoring for side effects, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, person-centered care for seniors in our community.

The ideal candidate has healthcare experience, state Medication Aide certification is preferred, and a commitment to infection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Experience in healthcare, especially senior care or assisted living preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for the elderly and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including ADLs assistance.
• Maintain accurate medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes, and inform the healthcare team.
• Store and handle medications safely per state regulations and policies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other professionals to ensure quality care.
• Follow regulations, guidelines, and safety protocols for medication administration.
