Job summary

Westminster Assisted Living & Memory Care of Cullman is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. The role requires state certification, a high school diploma, and prior healthcare experience; training is available on the job.

You will collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safe and accurate medication handling and daily living support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, especially senior care, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, ensure proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with medical needs and assist with ADLs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Observe residents for side effects or changes in condition and notify the healthcare team.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure safe storage and compliance with regulations.
• Collaboration: Work with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow regulations and protocols for safe medication administration.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

State certification as Medication Aide preferred
