Job summary

Heath House is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to provide safe, accurate medication administration and to monitor residents’ health status. The role supports the nursing team in delivering high-quality care with attention to detail and compassion.

The position emphasizes safe medication handling, documentation, and adherence to regulations, while also engaging residents in wellness activities and maintaining a respectful, caring environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Active Medication Aide certification in good standing with the state.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and company protocols.
• Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in residents' health status, measure vital signs, and assist with basic healthcare tasks as needed.
• Resident Engagement: Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation in wellness programs and activities.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow infection control procedures, maintain organized medication carts and records, and respond to emergencies when necessary.
