Job summary

Avantara Norton is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our skilled nursing team. You will provide prescribed medications, assist residents with daily living activities, and monitor changes in condition to ensure comfort and safety.

Qualified applicants will have SD CNA certification, completed Medication Aide training, CPR certification, and ideally one year of CNA/Aide experience. We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Unencumbered South Dakota CNA certificate required.
• Completion of SD-approved Medication Aide training and CPR certification required.
• One year CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed and document administration.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living and daily care tasks.
• Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes to the clinical team.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure education and safety standards are met.

As a Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Norton by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of South Dakota C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of South Dakota approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
