Job summary

Avantara Huron is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our caring team. You will administer medications and assist residents with daily activities, while monitoring health conditions and ensuring a safe, supportive care environment.

Applicants should hold a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered SD CNA certificate, SD Medication Aide training, and CPR certification. Prior CNA/MA experience is preferred, but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An unencumbered South Dakota CNA certificate is required.
• State-approved Medication Aide training is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• One year of CNA and Medication Aide experience is preferred, but we will invest in the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Front line of the Clinical Department providing medications to residents.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Maintain a safe environment and quality of care.
• Support ongoing education and communication with care teams.

Responsibilities

As a Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Huron by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

Qualifications

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of South Dakota C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of South Dakota approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
