Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. You will support the nursing department and collaborate with other teams to help residents attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
  • Current state certification as Medication Aide or Qualified Medication Administration Person.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Attends in-service training and maintains continuing education hours if required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team and use basic computer programs.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

  • Administer routine medications to residents per state regulations and Primrose policy.
  • Provide patient care activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and daily living tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, other departments, and families to ensure resident well-being and safety.
  • Support the nursing department to provide efficient, economical care that enhances residents' physical and psychosocial health.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we're looking for:
  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
  • Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
  • Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
  • Demonstrates abilities to work as a team.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Opportunities for full-time or part-time hours.

Available shifts: days, evenings, or nights.
