Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to administer routine medications and support residents in a caring, compliant manner. The role includes helping with daily living activities and coordinating with the nursing team to promote residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Candidates should have a Medication Aide certification as required by state regulations, CPR/First Aid certification, and be able to work weekends or holidays on a rotating schedule within a

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care or assisted living environment preferred.
• Current Medication Aide or Assistant certification per state regulations.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attends in-service trainings and maintains continuing education hours.
• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and dementias preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, and meal services as assigned.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
• Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations-if required.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
• Demonstrates abilities to work as a team.
