Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is seeking a Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in compliance with state regulations and policy. The role supports the nursing team and may assist with personal care, housekeeping, and social activities to promote residents’ well-being.

Candidates should have current Medication Aide certification and CPR/First Aid, plus experience in long-term care.

Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
  • Attends in-service training and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and related memory impairments is preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we're looking for:
  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
