Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities in Appleton, Wisconsin seeks a dedicated Medication Aide to administer routine medications per state regulations and company policy. You will support residents with basic care tasks and collaborate with the nursing team to promote well-being and efficient service within the community.

Ideal candidates have long-term care experience, current Medication Aide certification, CPR/First Aid, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living is preferred.
• Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attend in-service training and maintain continuing education hours as required for certification.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias is preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to work as a team.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy.
• Provide care that may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, and social activities as assigned.
• Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support resident well-being and efficient care delivery.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
• Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
