Job summary

Legacy Community Health in Houston’s Montrose location is seeking a Pharmacy Technician focused on Medication Adherence & Access to ensure patients have seamless access to medications and healthcare services. You will serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacies, supporting prescription renewals and benefit verifications in a collaborative team environment.

The role offers a Mon-Fri, 8AM-5PM hybrid schedule, opportunities for growth, and a mission-driven workplace

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a certified pharmacy technician.
  • Strong written communication skills for accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service in all interactions.
  • Strong understanding of medication prescribing process.
  • Capable of performing core duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic medical records systems.
  • Spanish speaking required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Legacy clients and healthcare providers/pharmacies to expedite medication needs.
  • Monitor and respond to prescription renewal requests within 48 hours following protocol.
  • Handle requests outside standard guidelines, seeking assistance as necessary.
  • Demonstrate expertise in medication prior authorization, including benefit verification and appeals preparation.
  • Maintain precise and current documentation for all activities.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
