Legacy Community Health in Houston seeks a Pharmacy Technician focused on Medication Adherence & Access. You will ensure patients obtain timely medications, collaborating with providers and pharmacies to streamline renewals and prior authorizations.

The role emphasizes accurate EMR documentation, strong patient communication, and a commitment to community health in a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician with current credentials.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a certified pharmacy technician.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for EMR documentation.
• Excellent customer service and patient experience.
• Spanish speaking required.
• Knowledge of the medication prescribing process.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; EMR navigation.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between Legacy clients and providers/pharmacies to expedite medication needs.
• Monitor prescription renewals and respond within 48 hours.
• Handle non-standard requests and seek guidance as needed.
• Demonstrate expertise in medication prior authorization and benefit verification.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMRs.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between Legacy clients and healthcare providers/pharmacies to expedite medication needs.
• Monitor and respond to prescription renewal requests within 48 hours following protocol.
• Handle requests outside standard guidelines, seeking assistance as necessary.
• Demonstrate expertise in medication prior authorization, including benefit verification and appeals preparation.
• Maintain precise and current documentation for all activities.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a certified pharmacy technician.
• Strong written communication skills for accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service in all interactions.
• Strong understanding of medication prescribing process.
• Capable of performing core duties of a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Basic competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to navigate and utilize electronic medical records systems.
• Spanish speaking required.
