Job summary

Encompass Health in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Reimbursement Accountant to support cost reporting, hospital cost areas, and audit activities across assigned hospitals.

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 18 months of hospital reimbursement experience are preferred; you will produce Medicare/Medicaid cost reports, assist audits, and help resolve reimbursement issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.
• 18 months hospital reimbursement experience or equivalent healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes Medicare and Medicaid cost reports with supervision.
• Develops ability to handle more complex areas of the cost report.
• Participates in audit/reviews by external organizations to protect the Company's interests.
• Ensures audit impacts are calculated and accounted for while contesting adjustments.
• Supports customers in identifying and resolving reimbursement issues.
• Maintains compliance with CMS regulations and hospital policies.
