Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is seeking a qualified reimbursement professional to assist in the development, administration and monitoring of reimbursement services across Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare programs. The role supports cost report preparation, rate changes, and compliance with government regulations.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of three years in hospital reimbursement, strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, and familiarity with cost report software (HFS).

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
• Minimum of three years experience in a hospital reimbursement environment, or Intermediary (MAC).
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulatory requirements for compliant hospital billing and financial reporting.
• Experience with Cost Report software, preferably HFS; proficient Excel and Word users.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the health system's reimbursement function for Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare programs.
• Assists in the preparation of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports with required data.
• Analyzes regulatory changes and ensures organizational compliance.
• Supports audits, records requests, and liaison activities with intermediaries and auditors.
• Develops procedures to address new reimbursement regulations and payment methods.
