Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer to support the testing lifecycle for Medicare claims processing systems on a legacy mainframe platform. The role will validate DME claim workflows, CMS regulations, and manage test cases in TestRail, collaborating with analysts, developers, and operations.

Qualifications

BS/BA with 2 years experience or 6 years without a degree.
Strong mainframe experience with JCL, COBOL, DB2, and VSAM.
Experience with test case management and automation tools.
Knowledge of Medicare CMS rules and EDI 837/835.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for Medicare claim workflows in the mainframe environment (batch and online).
Integrate automated test suites with TestRail for execution tracking and reporting.
Continuously assess regression suites for automation opportunities to improve test coverage, speed, and repeatability.
Develop, manage, and execute test cases within TestRail aligned to Medicare claims workflows and CMS requirements.
Perform functional, regression, and integration testing for mainframe batch and online applications.
Validate COBOL/JCL jobs, DB2/VSAM database updates, and downstream claim adjudication outputs.
