Job summary

Elderwood Administrative Services is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist (Medicare/Managed Care) for our Buffalo, NY on-site team. You will manage Medicare and managed care claims from submission through payment, ensuring accurate coding and timely reimbursements.

The role emphasizes detail orientation, strong communication, and the ability to navigate denials, remits, and follow-ups in a fast-paced environment. Monday–Friday daytime schedule with benefits and a focus on resident care support.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic claim submission and follow up.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and detail orientation in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of office machines and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Submit managed care, commercial, Medicare Part A/B and other third-party claims.
• Review remittances for denials and discrepancies.
• Follow up on outstanding claims over 30 days until payment or resolution.
• Generate AR aging reports weekly or biweekly.
• Contact insurance carriers to confirm claim status and support timely reimbursement.
• Prepare and submit corrected claims and rebills.
