Job summary

The Highlands at Owasso is seeking a Medicaid & Medicare Billing Clerk to join our business office team. You will manage Medicare/Medicaid billing for our long-term care residents, ensure timely claims submission, correct denials, and accurate posting of payments.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with PDPM and payer guidelines, with proficiency in PointClickCare and strong communication skills. On-site collaboration with clinical and admissions teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Medicaid and Medicare billing for long-term care
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Part A/Part B, Medicaid, PDPM and payer guidelines
• Proficient with PointClickCare and billing software
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit Medicare Part A, Part B, and Medicaid claims for residents
• Verify eligibility and coverage for Medicare, Medicaid, and secondary payers
• Monitor claims through billing cycle and follow-up on denials
• Research and correct claim errors, rejections, and denials
• Post payments and adjustments and reconcile accounts
• Maintain accurate resident billing files and documentation
• Collaborate with clinical/admissions teams on MDS and PDPM-related billing
• Communicate with payers, state agencies, and internal departments
• Assist with month-end closing and reporting
• Ensure compliance with regulations
• Bill for ancillary services such as labs, X-rays, wounds
