Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience.
• Two years of experience in health care or hospital billing with an understanding of coverage eligibility requirements for Medicare.
• Able to enter and retrieve data within FSS0/ASF
• Familiar with Nebo's eCare billing editors such as Classic and CMS.
• Strong familiarity with medical terminology and patient financial matters.
• Microsoft Office proficiency to design, implement, track, and maintain moderately complex statistical information.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills for reporting to payers and management.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to work with multiple internal and external contacts.
• Experience in a hospital setting and familiarity with patient fiscal matters.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage account balances to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
• Follow up of claims to the appropriate payer for reimbursement and ensure charges are properly credited or debited.
• Develop, manage, and maintain electronic documents for these projects.
• Develop and report project status weekly.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure charges and diagnoses are accurate during billing.
• Communicate constructively with patients and Rush departments to achieve positive outcomes.
• Monitor CMS, NGS, and HFS updates to stay compliant.
• Work with the team to cover related job responsibilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor system enhancements.
• Provide constructive feedback and issue solutions as needed.
