Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking a Plant Operator at our Ellenwood, GA facility. The role encompasses weighing medical waste, operating an autoclave, recertifying drums, and managing universal waste with strict paperwork controls.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a labor-intensive setting, lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, and hold forklift certification or be willing to obtain it. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with competitive hourly pay and benefits for a 3rd shift

Qualifications

• Experience in labor-intensive warehouse or manufacturing jobs.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Comfortable working around medical and universal waste with PPE.
• Strong attention to paperwork and regulatory compliance.
• Reliable with proven tenure with previous employers.
• Willing to work 3rd shift (8PM–5AM).
• Team player with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Weigh incoming regulated medical waste containers using the weighbridge.
• Load/operate the autoclave machine to treat materials.
• Recertify 55 gallon drums as required.
• Count universal waste (lightbulbs, batteries, etc.) and add them to the waste manifest.
• Lift and move up to 75 lbs and handle 55 gallon drums.
• Provide training to others as needed.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and stay productive with minimal supervision.
• Work well with coworkers and leaders, even under pressure.
