Job summary

PACE Medical Transporter I position with Central Valley PACE in Merced, CA. The role transports physically limited passengers under supervision, coordinating with caregivers and agencies to ensure timely arrivals.

Responsibilities include driving a wheelchair-accessible van, safe use of lifts and tie-downs, and maintaining logs and vehicle condition. Requires a CA license and at least 6 months of mobility-transport experience.

Qualifications

• Valid CA driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Must work effectively in a team and operate accessible vehicles.
• CMS competencies approval before working independently.

Responsibilities

• Drives a wheelchair-accessible van to transport participants to destinations.
• Ensures wheelchair lifts and tie-downs are used safely and timely.
• Maintains driver logs, mileage and transport times for facilities.
• Inspects vehicle and reports maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team and caregivers.
• Communicates changes in participant condition to the licensed nurse.
