Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is seeking a PRN Medical Technologist to join our full-service laboratory team. The role covers Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Immunology with emphasis on accurate, timely reporting and adherence to QC processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Medical Technology/CLS/MLS, ASCP/AMT certification or eligibility within 180 days, and 3–5 years of related experience; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/CLS/MLS or related field.
• ASCP or AMT certification required or eligible within 180 days of hire.
• 3–5 years of experience preferred, recent grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, complex and specialized laboratory procedures across multiple departments.
• Review accuracy of patient results before reporting; recollect samples if needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instruments; document QC results and corrective actions.
• Assist in training new staff and participate in QA/improvement initiatives.
