Job summary

Kettering Health Wilmington is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to join our laboratory team. The role involves accurate testing, QC procedures, equipment checks, and timely reporting of results, while maintaining competency and supporting staff training.

Ideal candidates hold NAACLS MLS or related BS/BA certification or MT/MLS credentials, with MLT options for appropriately credentialed individuals.

Qualifications

• NAACLS MLS or related BS/BA certification required.
• MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) certification or ASCP/AMT categoricals with BS/BA.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science with required chemistry/biology credits or equivalent military program.
• MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification required.
• Students completing NAACLS-accredited programs within 6 months may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate testing and reports results timely and accurately.
• Performs instrument checks, quality control and maintenance.
• Notifies appropriate care givers of critical or corrected results.
• Maintains competency and participates in training and staff development.
• Organizes workload and multitasks to meet deadlines.
