Kettering Health Hamilton laboratory is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform accurate testing, quality control, and timely reporting of results. The role requires a MLS/MT credential or eligibility, a related science degree, and strong communication with hospital staff.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, proficiency handling, and participation in training and compliance initiatives within a varied shift environment at our Hamilton location.

Qualifications

• Proven foundation in biological science, chemistry, and math.
• Completion of NAACLS MLS program or related BS/BA.
• Certification as MT/MLS or equivalent is required or eligible.
• Alternative routes include an associate degree with required science credits.

Responsabilités

• Performs accurate testing and reports results in writing or electronic systems.
• Maintains instrument checks, calibration and quality control.
• Notifies appropriate care givers of critical results per policy.
• Participates in safety training, compliance plans and staff meetings.
• Prepares samples, labels, preserves specimens and ensures proper transport.
• Teaches procedures and evaluates trainees as needed.
• Assists with schedules, inventory, and performance improvement.
