Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree with 12-month MLS training and MLS certification or MLS registry-eligible via MLT pathway.
• Willingness to fill CLIA roles (Technical Consultant, Technical Supervisor, General Supervisor) as defined by CAP.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; maintain ongoing competency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain competence across testing areas: Chemistry, Coagulation, Immunohematology (Blood Bank), Hematology, Specimen Processing, Urinalysis, Toxicology.
• Assist accessioning to receive and process specimens.
• Perform instrument maintenance and quality control per procedures.
• Exercise professional judgment to prioritize tests and workloads efficiently.
• Mentor students and new employees; support regulatory compliance and safety.
• Cross-train across all department areas; participate in quality improvement and department meetings.
