Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest in Houston, TX is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform complex laboratory testing across bacteriology, hematology and chemistry. The role reports to Laboratory leadership and supports patient safety through quality control and proficiency testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution.
• Or qualify under CLIA guidelines for MT/CLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.
• Maintains required competencies in all departments assigned and demonstrates accuracy for all testing.
• Communicates effectively with care providers to ensure continuity of patient care and timely reporting of results.
• Fulfills duty to maintain competence and participate in performance improvement activities.
