Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West is a full-service hospital in West Houston seeking a Medical Technologist PRN to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, you will perform clinical laboratory duties to support patient care and hospital standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
(MLS) Medical Laboratory Scientist or (MLT) Medical Laboratory Technician must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.

Responsibilities

Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department.
Participates in performance improvement activities within the Department.
Facilitates communication between the Laboratory and Medical Staff and other Hospital Departments to enhance patient care services.
Notifies supervisors of any unusual requests to ensure maximum utilization of resources and maintenance of quality care.
Performs computer functions as necessary according to job duties.
Teach new employees and students in the theory and procedures of laboratory sciences.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Laboratory Services or designer
