The Medical Technologist is responsible for the prompt and accurate performance of routine, complex and specialized clinic laboratory procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor. Technologists demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to neonate, infant, child, or adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Reports to: Laboratory Director/Laboratory Manager
Education required and/or preferred:
REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution. Or be qualified under CLIA guidelines for MT/CLS.
Licensure/Certification:
PREFERRED: MT or equivalent certification through organizations like the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or be currently eligible to sit for MT or equivalent certification exam preferred.
Experience required or preferred:
PREFERRED: One year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training.
