Job Description

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, providing accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. The position utilizes automation, computerization, and manual methods. Responsibilities include quality control, instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role involves handling blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids, which may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens.

Responsibilities and Duties

• 55%: Perform complex analysis of all body fluids and tissues, determine data reliability, interpret information for diagnosis, troubleshoot technical issues, and mentor new staff.
• 15%: Provide customer service to clinicians and clients, communicate effectively with medical staff and patients, and handle service recovery when necessary.
• 20%: Conduct quality assurance and equipment maintenance, document QC data, review maintenance logs to ensure optimal performance.
• 5%: Engage in continuing education, maintain competencies, and train new employees and students.
• 5%: Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (Required), ASCP certification or equivalent, experience in an automated clinical laboratory, and excellent customer service skills.

Work Shift

Night shift, 40 hours per week.
