Join our team as a Medical Technologist//MLT/Lab Technician - Manual Hematology/Coagulation at Cleveland Clinic.

Position Overview

This role involves performing and interpreting tests at all complexity levels in the Manual Hematology/Coagulation Lab at the Main Campus. You will utilize your knowledge of laboratory science theories, technical skills, and problem-solving to aid in patient care. The position offers extensive hands-on experience and opportunities for professional growth.

Job Titles and Schedule

We hire based on educational background into three titles: Medical Technologist, Med Lab Technician, and Lab Technician. This role works night shifts from 11:00PM to 7:30AM.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting, and record-keeping.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and quality control activities.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Document processes accurately and participate in proficiency testing and continuing education.
• Identify and resolve testing problems, and train staff or students as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field or meet CLIA high complexity testing qualifications.
• Ohio state licensure at the technologist level.
• Licenses in Microbiology, Immunohematology, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT, MLT, MLS) or eligibility from ASCP.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Visual acuity, color distinction, fine motor skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift light weights, and handle hazardous materials with PPE.
