Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLS to perform tests on blood, urine and body fluids to aid diagnosis and patient status. You will supervise Medical Lab Technicians and participate in performance improvement activities to ensure quality.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or laboratory medicine with clinical rotation, plus relevant MLS/MT certification and state licensure within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/physical/biological or life science with relevant clinical laboratory experience within the last five years, OR degree in laboratory medical technology with clinical rotation.
• National Registration as MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), MT(HEW) OR state MT license (within 6 months)

Responsibilities

• Performs tests on blood, urine and other body fluids to support diagnosis and patient status.
• Supervises Medical Lab Technician (MLT) and participates in Performance Improvement activities.
• Maintains quality and patient safety through adherence to laboratory protocols and teamwork.
• Promotes a supportive, collaborative environment aligned with Summit Medical Center’s mission and values.
