Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD is seeking a Medical Technologist to join its clinical laboratory team. The role involves independent performance of technical procedures, patient testing, quality control, and participation in quality management; designation as General Supervisor in CLIA guidelines when needed; Blood Bank work required.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's in Medical Laboratory Science with 2–5 years experience; MT/MLS (ASCP) preferred; B.S.

Qualifications

• An Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science with a minimum of 2–5 years experience.
• Preferred: B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science including 60 semester hours of medical lab technology courses or other sciences as specified by CLIA; OR a B.S and successful completion of an accredited MT/MLS program; OR a B.S in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science including a Laboratory training program or ABHES/NAACLS accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the independent performance of technical procedures, including emergency and routine patient testing, quality control, and preventive maintenance.
• Qualifies as a General Supervisor designate per CLIA in the absence of the Section Supervisor or Manager.
• This position requires working in the Blood Bank.

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
