Job summary

Connecthcs is recruiting MT/MLTs for a hospital laboratory near Greenville, SC. Roles cover chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and coag testing in generalist capacity. Shifts include night and weekend schedules in rapid response labs, plus an additional site 20 minutes away.

Responsibilities include accurate testing, equipment operation, quality management participation, and student training. Certification and eligible degrees are required per listed qualifications.

Qualifications

• MLT/MT generalist role requiring appropriate ASCP or HEW credentials.
• Experience with chemistry, hematology, UA, and coag tests preferred.
• Must demonstrate proper phlebotomy technique and patient identification.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests per standard laboratory procedures and produce accurate results.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, including the Lab Interface System.
• Participate in quality management, QC/calibration requirements, and education credits.
• Contribute to training and evaluation of students and new staff.
• Assist with test evaluation, implementation, and change management.

Job description

Our client, a hospital Lab located about 45 mins from Greenville, SC (and one opening located 20 mins from Greenville), has a need for MT/MLTs to join their team. NO SPONSORSHIPS available! These are Generalist positions. This is for a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician, NOT a phlebotomist, medical assistant, CNA or specimen processing tech.

Shifts Available:

2 openings are in the Rapid response lab 8pm-6:30am+some weekends

1 opening in rapid response lab is 1st shift+every 3rd weekend

1 opening is at a sister lab located 20 mins from Greenville, 8pm-6:30am, every other weekend

To aid in patient diagnosis and treatment, performs accurate tests and procedures on patient specimens. Generalist position including chemistry, hematology, UA, and coag.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all testing and procedures according to standard laboratory procedure and techniques, producing accurate results.
• Maintains an operational knowledge of all mechanical and electrical equipment in the lab, including the ability to operate the Lab Interface System
• Participates in the quality improvement requirements of the laboratory’s quality management system. Ensures that quality control and calibration criteria are met
• Assumes responsibility for attaining required continuing education credits annually
• Responsible for bench teaching, training and evaluation of students, residents and new employees
• Demonstrates proper phlebotomy technique, proper identification of patient, correct labeling of samples, and proper processing of specimens.
• Assists with test/procedure evaluation, implementation, and maintenance; helps to implement change.

Qualifications:

• MLT ASCP Eligible: Associate Degree in Medical Technology, MLT (ASCP) or HHS eligible.
• MLT ASCP: Associate Degree in Medical Technology, MLT ASCP required.
• MLT HEW: Associate Degree in Medical Technology, MLT HEW required.
• MT ASCP Eligible: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, MT (ASCP) eligible with HHS certification.
• MT ASCP: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, MT (ASCP) registry or other nationally recognized registry.
