Job summary

CareWell Health in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform clinical laboratory examinations, quality control, instrument maintenance and test management. You will handle specimen processing, result reporting and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires the ability to work with various lab sections, maintain accuracy, and communicate results to clinicians while upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or equivalent preferred.
• Associate degree acceptable if experience criteria are met.
• ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of clinical practicum or 1 year of full-time experience in a clinical lab.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of patient test results.
• Maintains quality control policies and documents corrective actions.
• Identify and address problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor.
• Perform a wide variety of lab procedures using manual and automated methods.
• Maintain instruments and equipment; perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to release.
• Ensure proper specimen identification and rejection when criteria unmet.
• Communicate results to physicians and care teams; protect patient confidentiality.
• Follow safety, infection control and emergency procedures; PPE usage.

Education

Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology

ASCP or equivalent

Associate degree acceptable

1 year clinical practicum / 1 year experience
