Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Medical Technologist at Clifton Springs Hospital to perform clinical laboratory analyses on blood, urine, body fluids, and tissues within published turnaround times using various instruments and methods.

The role requires NYS licensure, potential provisional license fulfillment within 24 months, and ASCP certification is preferred. Expect 40 hours weekly in an on-site lab with 8-hour shifts and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• NYS Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist required.
• If holding a provisional or limited permit, must obtain full license within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in an accurate and timely manner.
• Interpret and correlate test results with patient history and diagnosis.
• Communicate stat and critical lab results and instrument issues to clinicians.
• Perform QC, routine and advanced maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Prepare reagents and maintain inventory with cost containment.
• Utilize computer systems for ordering, testing, results, and reports.
• Teach in the Medical Laboratory Science Program and rotations.
• Meet all regulatory lab requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
