Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Technologist in Burlington, MA. You will perform routine and special lab assays, evaluate results, and communicate with physicians to support patient care.

The role is based in the Laboratory department at 20 Wall St, Burlington, with a full-time schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 11:45am–8:15pm, with rotating weekends/holidays. Requires an accredited Associate degree in lab science or CLIA-equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution; or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline or equivalent from an accredited institution (preferred).
• ASCP or equivalent Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification preferred or eligible within 6 months of hire.
• 1+ years of laboratory experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens, exercising independent judgement when evaluating validity of test results.
• Provides data for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.
• Operates and calibrates laboratory equipment, evaluates data, and communicates procedures and results to physicians and nursing staff.
