Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Technologist II in Needham, MA for a 40-hour workweek in the Laboratory. You will perform routine and special laboratory assays, with independent judgment in evaluating results prior to reporting.

You will operate and calibrate instruments, analyze data across chemistry, hematology, morphology, cytology, urinalysis, serology, histology and bacteriology, and support a collaborative clinical team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Must meet the required qualifications for competency assessment and have the education and experience to evaluate the complexity of testing as defined by CAP (College of American Pathologist).
• ASCP certification is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to obtain data used in diagnosis and treatment.
• Executes and analyzes tests in chemistry, hematology, morphology, cytology, urinalysis, serology, histology or bacteriology.
• Carries out sampling, testing and recording duties related to chemical analysis of body fluids.
• Operates analytic devices used in performing complex testing and sampling.
• Interprets test results and correlates with patient history and clinical condition.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, physical, clinical laboratory science or medical technology

Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification
