Job summary

Wellstar Health System at Columbia County Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Night shift to support our clinical laboratory team. You will perform essential tests across General Lab and Blood Bank, maintain equipment, and uphold quality assurance standards under supervision.

The role requires MT(ASCP) or equivalent, a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or Health Science, and at least 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Medical Technology or Health Science required; master's preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist
• Certification MT(ASCP) or equivalent required on hire

Responsibilities

• Works independently analyzing samples in General Laboratory, Blood Bank, or Microbiology sections
• Performs routine testing in hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank and microbiology
• Maintains QC logs, safety procedures, and instrument maintenance records
• Trains and supports other technologists; participates in shift hand-offs
• Maintains CAP and Joint Commission readiness
