Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or related field.
• 1 year of experience in MLS NAACLS approved program or as a hospital laboratory technologist.
• Florida Technologist License in appropriate area(s) required; ASCP/MT/MLS certification preferred.
• Color vision ability must be demonstrated; good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and label specimens, ensure policy-compliant handling, and manage specimen flow.
• Perform moderate to high complexity testing across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, and molecular areas.
• Conduct quality control, document instrument checks, and maintain reagents and stains.
• Operate complex laboratory analyzers and report results with independent judgment.
• Instruct students and train new staff; participate in evaluating new instruments.
• Attend meetings, comply with policies, and assist with specimen transport as workload allows.
