Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to perform a broad range of clinical lab procedures across multiple disciplines in our Jacksonville, FL facility. You will operate advanced analyzers, review data, and ensure quality control while supporting education and staff development.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or related field, plus 1 year of MLS NAACLS-approved experience or equivalent hospital laboratory technologist work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science or related field.
• One year MLS NAACLS-approved program or hospital technologist experience.
• Florida Technologist License in appropriate area(s) required; ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and accept specimens; ensure proper labeling and policy adherence.
• Perform moderate to high complexity procedures across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, immunohematology and molecular areas.
• Conduct quality control testing and analyze data to ensure accurate results; prepare stains, reagents and media.
• Operate complex laboratory analyzers; document instrument checks and maintenance.
• Review turnaround times and abnormal results; communicate findings to staff and physicians.
• Provide instruction and training to students and new employees; evaluate new instruments/techniques.
• Assist in procedure writing, address quality issues and participate in staff evaluations.
