North Shore Medical Center in Florida seeks a Medical Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform manual and automated blood tests, prepare specimens for microscope examination, and operate a range of laboratory equipment.

The successful candidate will hold a BS in Medical Technology or related major, have Florida licensure as a Medical Technologist in all specialties, and possess hospital laboratory experience.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or BS with a chemical, physical or biologic science as a major subject.
• Minimum one year training in a clinical laboratory or associate in arts in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of hospital training.
• Minimum 1 year in hospital experience preferred in the field.

Job Summary

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Performs analysis of body fluids and exudates. Performs various chemical procedures on specimens using several laboratory equipment. Performs quality control procedures, linearities, instrument checks and maintenance of instruments. Records workload and other statistics. Calculates and tabulates results and makes reports of observations. Post tests findings.
